FAQ Statements
Providing answers to frequently asked questions about our ordering process, payment policies, shipping information and products.

Can I order direct?
Answer: Yes, we built the website with the intention to give the actual consumer the ability to do just that. We think of " Our Website " as a communications link between us, the manufacturer and you, the consumer. We have eliminated all the costs of traditional distribution, except for the cost of freight. We no longer have to rely on goods on a shelf in a store and you no longer have to look for that store. If you are reading this you have already accomplished the hard part!

Is there a minimum order requirement?
Answer: No, order what you need.

How do I order?
Answer:
You can place an order by e-mail, fax or mail. We will reply with the cost of the item(s). We will also suggest how the order can be delivered and those costs. If and when you confirm the order and tell us which mode of transport you prefer we will confirm the total cost.

How will you deliver small orders which exceed the postal length limitations?
Answer:
Because of the minimums involved with both air and sea freight, a courier service is usually the only solution. Although not cheap it has the advantage of being door to door service without freight forwarding charges on either side. Currently FedEx offers the most competitive service.

How do I know which is the best way to ship my order?
Answer:
We will suggest the best alternatives and you can decide which best suits your needs.

Is there anything I can do to economize on the cost of forwarding on my side?
Answer:
Yes, if you clear the shipment through customs yourself and avoid the service and charges of a freight forwarding service. It sounds intimidating, but we just had an e-mail from a customer in the U.S. who did just that and she had no previous experience. Her comment was "the documents were easy to process and the customs clearance process was a snap".

I have been charged for 1600 kgs of freight, but my shipment only weights 850 kgs. Why the difference?
Answer:
Your chargeable weight was 1600 kgs due to the dimensions of your shipment. All dimensions are multiplied and divided by a standard formula and the sum of that is reflected in volume weight. If that volume weight exceeds your actual or gross weight you will be charged for whichever is the higher weight.
The formula for that is 1:6 or in layman's terms, 1 kg equals 6000 cubic centimeters. If your dimensions, however, are reflected in inches, the factor to consider is 1 lb equals 166 cubic inches.

What must I do when I am told that I must legalize my export?
Answers:
All export documents must be presented to the receiving country's consulate to have each document stamped with the official seal of that country prior to exportation.

How do I determine the "volume weight"?
Answer:
Volume weight is determined by using the following calculations for those shipments with dimensions in centimeters: (Length x Width x Height) divided by 6000 = volume in kilograms.

Do all ocean shipments require an original OBL to be surrendered prior to delivery?
Answer:
In most cases, this is required. The seller has the option of requesting an "express bill of lading" which will allow for the release of the cargo without the original ocean bill of lading.

Are my airfreight charges based on the actual weight of the cargo only?
Answer:
IATA regulations state that the cost of airfreight must be calculated on the "chargeable" weight. IATA defines the "chargeable weight" as the actual gross weight or the volume weight, whichever is greater.

When does the carriers liability begin and end?
Answer:
The Company shall be liable for loss of or damage to the goods occurring between the time when the Company takes the goods into its charge and the time of delivery.

What is the limitation for goods that are lost or damaged?
Answer:
For delay, depreciation of or damage to goods, the freight forwarder's liability is limited to SDR (Special Drawing Rights) 8.33 per kg gross of the part of the goods, which have been lost, depreciated or damaged.
